Taking photos for this family is something I have come to look forward to. I will admit I don’t normally get crazy excited about large group family photos and I think any photographer would agree if they were being honest – simply because they can be chaotic and stressful trying to arrange lots of people. I always joke that, especially when young children are involved, sessions like this really test your ability as a photographer to the extreme *snicker*. But there is something so heart warming about seeing families like this get photos every year.
I’ll start out by saying that this could have easily been the 7th or 8th session (I’ve lost count?!) I’ve done for these guys which flatters me to the core. I feel like I know this family pretty well just from the observing I do behind the camera and the visiting in between. I feel the connections and love they have for each other and for the two kids. I’ve watched the kids grow from babies and each time I see them it’s astonishing how much they’ve changed since our last shoot. I love that good photos are important to them and that they choose me to be the person to capture it. It made me melt that little Reece even wanted to give me a hug when the shoot was finished. This is why I love what I do.
